TRILOGY TRAINING: Ten Texts for Leadership Development

Do you wish you had more time to study? Do you want to get your teeth into a variety of ideas from counselling, to Biblical interpretation, community building to church history? Read these ten texts with me over the next year, and you will find that your horizons are expanded, you are equipped in new ways, and you have developed a study habit that you can build on. We will read one book a month, and meet monthly to discuss it. If you are interested, let me know, and I will give you further details of dates, cost, the reading list etc.

The forthcoming SOUND Youth Service, organised by Transform Network: Saturday 7th March, 7pm at 9 Gowlett Road, SE15

TRANSFORMATION – people make change happen! Want to make a fairer world, one free of poverty and injustice? We all have the power to change things and Christian Aid’s Transformation event on Saturday 13th September at Church.co.uk, Waterloo, will show you how. There’ll be practical sessions to polish up your campaigning skills and you’ll hear directly from activists around the world. And because change can be fun, too, there will be loads to do for the whole family, with all-age activities, games and challenges for children and young people, plus an on-site crèche. All events run from 10am-4pm and lunch will be provided. Attendance is free, but we invite a donation of £5-10 from each adult attending. For details and to book places online, call 020-7523 2012 or visit: www.christianaid.org.uk/getinvolved/events/transformation.aspx

Violence… isolation… despair… What can the church do? Livability Community Mission and Faith Action believe that the church has a unique role to play in service and leadership to its local community, to bear powerful witness in both word and deed of God’s awesome power and love. Therefore they are organising a CONNECTING COMMUNITIES CONFERENCE on Friday 19th September, 10am – 4pm at Freedom Centre International, Peckham SE15. Speaker include Rev.Jonathan Oloyede (Glory House & Transform Newham); workshop topics include: challenging gang culture, Street Pastors, engaging with local government, and football in the community.
