Loving God, loving one another and loving the world.
Vision and Values
Our church slogan is Loving God, loving one another and loving the world. We seek to live out these commands through love of our Father in Heaven, the forgiveness, grace and reconciliation of the cross of Jesus and through the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
The Vision of Crystal Palace Community Church:
In Crystal Palace Community Church we aim to live God-centred lives that flow out through loving, whole relationships into the world. It is our vision to be a healthy, mature, all age, multi-cultural church reaching out to our community with the full gospel of the Kingdom, through preaching, social action and a demonstration of God’s healing power. It is our long-term goal to plant further loving, multi-ethnic churches and other expressions of church, reaching out to their local communities.
Our vision can be further explained under four headings:
Loving relationships Crystal Palace Community Church exists to be a local, loving and intimate multi-ethnic church of all ages and backgrounds. We want to express the love we have received from our Heavenly Father through times of corporate worship, practical love towards one another and by serving the world around us.
Discipleship We are committed to ‘every member ministry’ and assisting each person’s development into fruitful and mature Christian ministry.
Partnership We are committed to working in partnership with London and UK Churches in order to impact these areas with the gospel.
Mission Local: As a church we exist to reach out to our local area with the gospel through preaching, social action and a demonstration of God’s power. We aim to equip and train each person in the church to reach out to their friends, neighbours and colleagues with the gospel.
Overseas: We send and support teams and individuals on both short and long term missions independently and in partnership with other missionary organisations.
Crystal Palace Community Church Values: (In no particular order)
• God Centred lives.
• Loving, healthy relationships throughout church life.
• Natural organic growth of the church.
• Living out our everyday lives for God.
• Servant-hearted team leadership that releases and equips people to fulfil their potential.
• Members knowing and using their gifts in the life of the church and growing towards maturity in Christ.
• Decision making that is Holy Spirit led, involving discussion and prayer of the team leadership, church directors and the church body.
• Each person having a living, personal relationship with God marked by commitment, joy and enthusiasm.
• Being part of the world-wide church and networking with local and international partners.
• Structures which are open to change.
• All-age, multicultural, Spirit-filled worship.
• Small groups which reflect the range of church life rather than one single purpose.
• Evangelism which answers the questions people are asking and meets their needs.
• Members having a love for each other which is demonstrated through their actions.
• Equal opportunity for ministry regardless of gender, race, age and background
We are indebted to 'Natural Church Development' in helping us to form these values. We believe very much in organic growth of the Church, That is, we believe that the life of God flows out of a loving, healthy relationship with God, and loving healthy relationships with one another. We believe it is this life that leads to us naturally bearing fruit for His glory.
